094. Cottage cheese doughnuts (recipe)

This time I wanted to make something sweet but quick and relatively healthy. That's why under the cut you'll find photos and the recipe for cottage cheese doughnuts, which won't take much of your time but will give you a good many pleasant minutes ;).

Cooking time ≈ 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 600 g cottage cheese of any fat content (better not too rich)
  • 1 tsp baking powder (or 2 tsp soda slaked with vinegar or citric acid)
  • 1 glass of flour (if the dough comes out runny you can add more)
  • 400 g vegetable oil
  • 3 hen's eggs
  • 1 glass of granulated sugar

Add the eggs to the cottage cheese and mix thoroughly.

Mix in the sugar. Add the baking powder to the flour and gradually add it to the mixture. If you took soda, add it before the flour.

Shape the well-mixed dough into doughnuts (if it's too runny, add more flour — the main thing is not to overdo it, because if you keep wetting your hands you can shape doughnuts even from a sticky dough).

Drop them into oil that has been heated beforehand.

As soon as the doughnuts turn golden, take them out of the oil and put them on a paper towel (a sieve, a colander, etc. — the excess oil has to go).

While the doughnuts are still hot, dust them with icing sugar and serve.

Bon appétit!

p.S

If you like, instead of icing sugar the doughnuts can be served with honey, sour cream, jam and so on. You can also add lemon zest or cinnamon to the dough — it changes the taste considerably.
