141. Salad with jamón and oranges (Spanish recipe)

As I've already told you, not long ago I got to know the particulars of Spanish cuisine. I've already written about jamón and jamoneras, so now I can share dishes with jamón with you. Under the cut you'll find photos and the recipe for one of the most interesting Spanish salads — a Castilian salad with jamón and oranges.

Cooking time ≈ 20 minutes.
Ingredients:

  • 4 oranges
  • 2 red sweet onions
  • 200 g Spanish olives (the slightly bitter ones)
  • 200 g jamón
  • watercress
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt, freshly ground pepper, cumin — to taste

First deal with the oranges: peel them, take off the white pith and cut them into pieces.

Divide the thinly sliced jamón into strips 1 cm wide.

If the olives are pitted, just cut them in half. If they have stones, crush them with a knife, take the stones out and cut them too.

Cut the onion into thin rings.

Put the watercress on the bottom of the dish.

Add the rest of the ingredients and the spices and mix thoroughly.

Dress with olive oil and the juice left over from cutting the oranges.

Bon appétit!

P.S
It's important to pick up a piece of orange, onion, olive and jamón on your fork all at once.
