147. A healthy burger (a recipe from Men's Health magazine)

Burgers
have always been unhealthy but popular, haven't they? Not so. Today I'll tell you about a not very popular and absolutely harmless sandwich made to a recipe from the editors of Men's Health magazine. I often cook chicken (tacos with chicken and chilli, for example), but for the first time there will be a very filling and healthy chickburger recipe with natural yogurt and Tabasco sauce under the cut.

Cooking time ≈ 40 minutes.
Ingredients for four servings:

  • 2 tbsp soft blue cheese
  • 1 pot of natural yogurt (as in the frozen yogurt recipe)
  • 4 chicken fillets (half a breast each)
  • ½ tbsp coarsely ground hot red pepper
  • 1 red onion
  • The juice of half a lemon
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 large iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 4 wholegrain burger buns
  • salt, black pepper, Tabasco sauce — to taste

Heat a griddle pan or an ordinary heavy-bottomed frying pan. Meanwhile mix the natural yogurt, lemon juice and cheese, add a pinch of pepper to the mixture and put it in the fridge to sit.

Melt the butter in the pan and add the Tabasco sauce. Salt and pepper the chicken fillets (you can beat them out if you like). Fry them until golden on both sides.

Cut the onion into rings.

Take the chicken out of the pan and put the onion in. Fry it on both sides until lightly browned.

Fry the halved burger buns in the remaining butter.

Put a lettuce leaf on one half of a bun.

Add the chicken fillet on top.

Pour over the natural yogurt sauce.

Scatter the rings of fried onion over it.

Cover with the second half of the bun.

The healthy burger to the recipe of the editors of Men's Health magazine is ready. Serve the chickburger with a vegetable side dish and enjoy a healthy boost of energy :).

Bon appétit!
